Tom has many years of sailing logged in his book. He grew up in the Midwest on the lakes of Minnesota and Wisconsin. In addition to spending every hour he could on his Hobie Cats, he taught sailing classes to young sailors in the area. Nowadays, he teaches those same skills to his wife and children.
