The step ladder just needs some finish sanding now and the hardware will be removed before the process. Almost all of the pieces are ready to be stained and varnished. Looks like we'll be staining this weekend and varnishing when the weather is a little warmer. At least everything will be ready to go!!
Ahoy Mateys!! This is a First Mate's Blog about life and times onboard S/V New Perspective. Join our family of 5 as we explore, fish, party, play, bask in the sun, cook, learn to sail and navigate celestially (and not-so-celestially using the GPS ;). We'll tell stories, share legends, sing sea chanteys, meet friends, and simply enjoy all that sailing in these waters has to offer. Climb aboard!!

Project: The S/V New Perspective Wood Refinishing
The wood refinishing onboard S/V New Perspective is coming to completion. It has been a tedious and loooooong project, but well worth the effort!! Here is a photo of the drawers after being sanded. They are now ready for staining and varnishing. We have been refinishing all the interior wood in a beautiful cherry color. Only a few more things are left, such as the step ladder and head doors. And a new table is being built and will be out of wood instead of formica. Our goal finish date is January 31st.
